Pakistan Praises Trump’s Peace Efforts After Call with Regional Leaders
(MENAFN) Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed what he described as the “extraordinary efforts” of Donald Trump to advance peace initiatives, following a coordinated call involving several regional leaders, according to reports.
The call included participation from the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Türkiye, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Pakistan, and focused on ongoing diplomatic efforts related to regional stability.
Sharif, commenting on the discussion, said, "I congratulate President Donald Trump on his extraordinary efforts to pursue peace and for holding a very useful and productive telephone call earlier today, with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkiye, Egypt, the UAE, Jordan and Pakistan,"
He added that the conversation offered a meaningful opportunity for participating countries to exchange views on ways to advance the diplomatic process and work toward lasting peace in the region.
The Pakistani prime minister also reiterated that Islamabad would continue supporting peace efforts “with utmost sincerity” and expressed optimism that Pakistan could potentially host the next round of discussions in the near future.
