Trump Says US and Iran “Getting Closer” to Potential Agreement

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump said Washington and Tehran are moving closer to reaching an agreement aimed at ending the conflict, according to remarks reported by CBS News.

Reports indicate that Trump described the situation as gradually improving but stopped short of providing specific details about the potential deal.

“Every day it gets better and better,” he said in a phone interview.

“I can't tell you before I tell them, right?” Trump added.

He stated that any final agreement would need to ensure Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon, and suggested that Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium would be addressed as part of the arrangement.

“I will only sign a deal where we get everything we want,” he said.

According to reports, Trump is still reviewing proposals and has not reached a final decision, while continuing consultations with advisers and foreign leaders, including officials from Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states.
