Pakistan Lauds Trump's Peace Push on Iran

(MENAFN) Pakistan on Sunday praised US President Donald Trump for what it described as exceptional diplomatic leadership, following a multiparty call involving leaders from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Türkiye, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif extended his congratulations in a formal statement, saying: "I congratulate President Donald Trump on his extraordinary efforts to pursue peace and for holding a very useful and productive telephone call earlier today, with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkiye, Egypt, the UAE, Jordan and Pakistan."

Sharif said the call provided a constructive opportunity to exchange perspectives on advancing the diplomatic process and securing durable regional peace.

He further pledged that Pakistan would continue its peacemaking efforts "with utmost sincerity" and expressed hope that Islamabad could host the next round of talks in the near future.
