Morocco Building Collapse Kills Fifteen in Fez


(MENAFN) The death toll from the collapse of a multi-story residential building in the northern Moroccan city of Fez has increased to 15, with five others injured, according to reports.

An official in Fez told a media outlet that “the number of victims in the city due to the collapse of a residential building has risen to 15 dead and five injured.”

The five-story building, located in the Jnan Jroudi neighborhood of the Ain Naqbi district, collapsed suddenly, causing widespread panic among residents in nearby buildings.

Rescue operations have since been completed following the incident, an Anadolu correspondent reported.

Authorities evacuated four surrounding buildings as a precaution and have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collapse.

No official explanation for the incident has yet been provided.
