Turkish, Iranian FMs Hold Talks on Latest US–Iran Negotiations

(MENAFN) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi discussed recent developments in talks between Tehran and Washington during a phone call on Friday, according to diplomatic sources, as stated by reports.

The conversation focused on the latest status of negotiations aimed at easing tensions between Iran and the United States.

Regional tensions have escalated since strikes launched by the US and Israel against Iran in February, prompting retaliatory actions by Tehran targeting Israeli territory as well as US-aligned interests in the Gulf, alongside disruptions linked to the Strait of Hormuz.

A ceasefire came into effect on April 8 through Pakistani mediation, although subsequent discussions in Islamabad reportedly failed to produce a lasting settlement. US President Donald Trump later extended the truce indefinitely, according to the same reports.
