Israel Orders Demolition of Eight Homes in Hizma Near East Jerusalem
(MENAFN) Israeli authorities on Wednesday issued demolition orders targeting eight Palestinian homes and other structures in the town of Hizma, located northeast of occupied East Jerusalem, citing lack of construction permits.
In a statement, the Jerusalem Governorate said the orders affected properties in the Tablas area, including residential homes and several commercial facilities.
Among those named were the home of Khaled Abdullah Abu Hamdan, a car wash owned by Ali Mohammad Ahmad Rizq, a carpentry workshop belonging to Nadi Mohammad Ahmad Rizq, a grocery store owned by Ahmad Mohammad Ahmad Rizq, and a caravan owned by Riyad Ahmad Salama.
The notices also covered three additional homes belonging to the families of Ahmad Salama, Mohammad Abdullah Qasem, and Salama Abdullah Qasem.
According to the governorate, such demolition measures have become increasingly frequent in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, which Palestinians say are part of broader efforts that push residents from their land while facilitating settlement expansion.
