Child Murdered in Northern Gaza Drone Strike Amid Ceasefire Violations
(MENAFN) A Palestinian child was killed and two others were injured in a drone strike in northern Gaza on Thursday, according to reports citing medical sources, in what is described as another breach of the ceasefire agreement in place since last October.
The strike reportedly targeted a civilian gathering in the Beit Lahia area, where an Israeli quadcopter drone dropped an explosive device, resulting in casualties that were transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital. The deceased was identified as 13-year-old Joud Dweik, while two additional individuals sustained injuries.
Medical sources stated that the incident represents part of what they describe as repeated violations of the ceasefire that took effect in October 2025. They claim that hundreds of people have been killed and thousands wounded since the agreement was implemented, despite its intended purpose of halting hostilities.
According to figures cited by Gaza’s Health Ministry, the death toll since the ceasefire has reached 881, with more than 2,600 people injured in similar incidents.
The ceasefire agreement was originally intended to end a prolonged conflict that began in October 2023, which, according to the same sources, resulted in tens of thousands of deaths, widespread destruction, and extensive damage to civilian infrastructure across the Gaza Strip.
