Iran Warns of Wider Escalation if Attacked by US, Israel
(MENAFN) Iran warns Tuesday that it could open new fronts if the United States or Israel carry out further strikes against the country, according to reports citing Iranian officials.
An Iranian army spokesperson says in a statement carried by a news agency that Iran would respond to any renewed attacks by using “new tools and methods.”
The warning comes amid continued regional tensions following earlier military escalation between the United States, Israel, and Iran in late February, which led to retaliatory strikes and heightened instability across the Gulf region.
According to reports, the conflict also contributes to the closure and disruption of the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route for energy supplies.
A ceasefire introduced in early April through Pakistani mediation is later extended, but negotiations in Islamabad reportedly fail to produce a lasting agreement, leaving underlying tensions unresolved.
