Iran Unveils Proposal to Halt Conflict With US, Israel
(MENAFN) Iran on Tuesday disclosed fresh particulars regarding its newest initiative presented to the United States aimed at ending the confrontation initiated by Washington and Israel against Tehran in February.
The information was shared by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi during a session with members of parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee. During the gathering, he delivered a detailed briefing on the most recent diplomatic exchanges between Iran and the US.
Gharibabadi explained that Tehran’s proposal underscores "its right to uranium enrichment and peaceful nuclear activities," according to a news agency.
The initiative further calls for “an end to conflicts across all fronts, including Lebanon; the lifting of the US naval blockade; the release of Iranian assets; and compensation by the United States for damage caused during the latest war to support reconstruction efforts.”
Additionally, he noted that the proposal confirms “the removal of all unilateral sanctions and UN Security Council resolutions, and the withdrawal of US forces from areas surrounding the Islamic Republic.”
On May 10, Iran reportedly conveyed its reply to a US proposal intended to end the conflict through Pakistan. However, President Donald Trump characterized the Iranian offer as “totally unacceptable.”
Iranian media outlets reported Monday that Tehran had forwarded an updated 14-point proposal to the American side through Pakistani intermediaries.
