Cross-Border Strikes Intensify Between Russia, Ukraine

(MENAFN) After a series of nighttime aerial assaults, both Russia and Ukraine announced civilian losses on Tuesday.

Authorities in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region stated that a Russian bombardment claimed the lives of two individuals and left 12 others wounded. Meanwhile, officials in the Chernihiv region reported that two residents were killed and 17 sustained injuries in the city of Priluki.

Aleksandr Khinshtein, governor of Russia’s Kursk region, wrote on Telegram that a Ukrainian drone strike resulted in one fatality and injured two more people.

Russia’s state nuclear corporation Rosatom stated that Kyiv carried out one of the "most serious" assaults targeting Energodar, the neighboring town of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear facility, which has remained under Russian authority since February 2022.

Separately, Mikhail Yevrayev, governor of Russia’s Yaroslavl region, announced that a Ukrainian unmanned aircraft struck an industrial site.

"Most of the drones were shot down; however, an industrial facility was hit. The relevant services are eliminating the fire," he said on Telegram.

In another announcement, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that 315 Ukrainian drones had been intercepted across various Russian territories overnight. The ministry further claimed that Russian troops had taken control of the settlement of Volokhivka in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region.
