Yemen’s Houthis Say Forces Ready for Any US Escalation Against Iran
(MENAFN) The leader of Yemen’s Houthi movement stated on Monday that the group is prepared militarily for any potential US action against Iran, warning that further escalation could reverberate across the region, according to reports.
In a televised address broadcast by the Houthi-run Al-Masirah channel, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi claimed that signs suggest Washington may be moving toward a renewed escalation phase following what he described as the failure of earlier efforts.
He accused the United States of not honoring its commitments and said it is heading toward increasing pressure on Iranian ports, despite what he described as potential consequences for the global economy.
Al-Houthi also said US President Donald Trump places Israeli interests above those of the United States.
He warned that any further escalation would carry “serious consequences” across the region.
“On the military level, we are ready for all developments,” he said.
