Ten Nation Denounce Israeli Attacks on Global Sumud Humanitarian Flotilla
(MENAFN) The foreign ministers of Türkiye, Bangladesh, Brazil, Indonesia, Spain, Colombia, Libya, Maldives, Pakistan, and Jordan on Monday issued a joint statement strongly condemning Israel’s repeated attacks on the Global Sumud Flotilla, describing it as a peaceful civilian humanitarian mission intended to highlight the worsening humanitarian crisis facing Palestinians.
According to reports, the ministers voiced deep concern over Israel’s previous interventions against aid missions in international waters and denounced the continuation of hostile actions targeting civilian ships and humanitarian activists.
The statement said, “These attacks, including assaults on vessels and the arbitrary detention of activists, constitute a clear violation of international law and international humanitarian law.”
The ministers also expressed serious concern about the safety of civilians aboard the flotilla and called for the immediate release of all detained activists, while stressing the need to fully respect their rights and dignity.
According to the statement, the repeated targeting of peaceful humanitarian initiatives demonstrates continued disregard for international law and the principle of freedom of navigation.
