Fidan Emphasizes Deepening Türkiye, Germany Ties
(MENAFN) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Monday that he addressed bilateral ties along with regional and international developments during his official trip to Germany.
“We will resolutely continue our close coordination and cooperation with our ally Germany on bilateral, regional and international issues," Fidan said in a post on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.
Fidan noted that the third session of the Türkiye-Germany Strategic Dialogue Mechanism was convened in Berlin. He highlighted that the previous round of this mechanism had taken place 12 years earlier, adding that the latest meeting reflected the two sides’ mutual determination to further strengthen their strategic partnership.
He explained that extensive discussions on bilateral relations were held with German officials, especially Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul.
He added that both sides intend to expand cooperation through concrete initiatives and reciprocal investments in fields such as the defense industry, the economy, energy, and connectivity.
“We once again underlined that the Turkish community in Germany is an important bridge that strengthens the human, cultural and economic foundations of our relations, and that preserving these ties is important," he said.
