Saudi Supreme Court Announces Timing For Arafat Day And Eid Al-Adha

Amman, May 17 (Petra) -- The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia announced on Sunday that the pivotal Day of Arafah, the pinnacle of the annual Hajj (pilgrimage), will fall on Tuesday, May 26.

According to an official statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the kingdom's highest court confirmed that Monday marks the first day of the Islamic holy month of Dhu al-Hijjah for the Hijri year 1447.

Following this lunar determination, the gathering of pilgrims on Mount Arafat will take place on May 26, with the major holiday of Eid al-Adha beginning on the subsequent day, Wednesday, May 27.
