Dukono Volcano Erupts in Indonesia
(MENAFN) According to reports, Dukono volcano in Indonesia’s North Maluku province erupted on Sunday, releasing a column of gray ash that rose up to 5,000 meters above its summit.
The 1,087-meter-high volcano is currently classified under the second-highest alert level, according to the country’s Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation.
Authorities have urged residents and visitors to avoid activities within a 4-kilometer radius of the crater due to safety risks. They also advised the use of face masks to reduce the health impact of volcanic ash exposure.
