Prince Hassan Concludes Vatican, Rome Visit Focused on Dialogue, Cooperation


(MENAFN) HRH Prince Hassan, accompanied by HRH Princess Sarvath El Hassan, has concluded a multi-day visit to Rome and the Vatican City focused on interfaith dialogue, diplomacy, and international cooperation.

According to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the visit included a series of intellectual, religious, diplomatic, and scientific engagements aimed at reinforcing Jordan’s role in promoting dialogue and mutual understanding at the global level.

At the Vatican, Prince Hassan met with Pope Leo XIV in discussions highlighting the historical ties between Jordan and the Holy See and emphasizing shared priorities related to compassion, justice, and interreligious understanding amid global humanitarian challenges.

The visit also coincided with the Eighth Colloquium between the Vatican’s Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue and the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies, held under the theme *“Human Compassion and Empathy in Modern Times.”* The event brought together religious leaders, academics, and policy figures from multiple regions.

During the discussions, Prince Hassan stressed the importance of prioritizing human dignity, justice, and security in global governance frameworks, and called for strengthening ethical foundations in international relations, particularly in response to ongoing humanitarian crises.

He also participated in meetings at Italian and European policy institutions, including the Italian Institute of International Affairs and the European Council on Foreign Relations, as part of broader discussions on global affairs and regional stability.
