Erdogan Received with Ceremony in Astana During Kazakhstan Visit
(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was officially welcomed by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana on Thursday as part of a state visit to Kazakhstan, according to reports.
Erdogan’s convoy traveled through streets decorated with Turkish and Kazakh flags before arriving at the Independence Palace, where he was received by Tokayev.
As stated by reports, the ceremony included a military honor guard and the playing of both national anthems, after which Erdogan inspected the guard of honor and exchanged formal greetings with the Kazakh leadership.
Following introductions of official delegations, the two presidents held a bilateral meeting before proceeding to more detailed talks.
According to reports, Erdogan is expected to co-chair the sixth meeting of the Türkiye–Kazakhstan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, alongside Tokayev, during the visit.
The program also includes the signing of bilateral agreements and a joint press conference, reflecting continued efforts to deepen cooperation between the two countries.
Senior Turkish officials accompanied Erdogan during the visit, including representatives from the foreign affairs, defense, and trade ministries, as well as senior presidential communications officials.
