Deadly Israeli Drone Strike in Central Gaza Leaves One Dead, One Wounded
(MENAFN) A Palestinian man was killed and another person injured Tuesday evening after an Israeli drone strike hit a residential area in central Gaza, according to medical sources, in what was described as another breach of the ceasefire that has been in effect since October last year.
Reports said Abdulrahman al-Shaafi lost his life after an Israeli drone launched two missiles toward the entrance of a house located east of the Nuseirat refugee camp. His body was later transported to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.
According to medical sources, another individual wounded in the strike was taken to Al-Awda Hospital for treatment, though no details were provided regarding the extent of the injuries.
Figures released by Gaza’s Health Ministry indicate that since the ceasefire began on Oct. 10, 2025, Israeli strikes and gunfire incidents have resulted in the deaths of around 856 Palestinians and left 2,463 others injured.
The truce was established following two years of war that began on Oct. 8, 2023. The conflict, which later continued in different forms, has killed more than 72,000 Palestinians, injured over 172,000 people, and caused widespread destruction across Gaza, including damage to nearly 90% of civilian infrastructure.
