Air Force Training Jet Goes Down in Alabama
(MENAFN) A U.S. Air Force training aircraft went down Tuesday in western Alabama's Fayette County, with both crew members ejecting to safety before impact, military officials confirmed.
Columbus Air Force Base in Mississippi acknowledged a "mishap" involving one of its T-38 Talon II jets, occurring at approximately noon local time.

Ground-level emergency response was immediate. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office and Lamar County Sheriff's Department both confirmed that rescue and emergency crews had deployed to the crash site.
The circumstances that led to the aircraft going down remain unclear. The Air Force Safety Investigation Board is set to launch a formal inquiry into the incident.
No further casualties or ground-level damage have been reported at this time.
