Israeli Media Reports Troop Injuries During Hezbollah Clashes in Lebanon
(MENAFN) Eight Israeli soldiers were reportedly injured during fighting with Hezbollah fighters amid an Israeli incursion north of the Litani River in southern Lebanon, according to Israeli media reports on Tuesday.
A TV channel said the injuries occurred during three separate close-range engagements with Hezbollah fighters.
According to the reports, Israeli troops from the Golani Brigade and the Egoz Unit crossed the Litani River and advanced toward the outskirts of Zawtar al-Sharqiyah, a village located roughly 10 kilometers from the Israeli border. The operation was described as an effort to “neutralize rocket launchers,” as cited by broadcaster
The media outlets reported that the mission lasted around a week and involved repeated ground confrontations in the area, during which multiple soldiers were wounded. The TV channel confirmed that eight soldiers were injured in total during the clashes.
The reports did not provide exact dates for when the injuries occurred or when the operation took place, noting only that it had been conducted under secrecy restrictions and cleared for publication on Tuesday.
There was no immediate response from Hezbollah regarding the reported incident.
