Susan Ann Samuel

Dr. Susan Ann Samuel is a lawyer and author. She completed LLM from University of Edinburgh (2020-2021) and PhD from University of Leeds (2022-2025). She has vast experience in working and researching on law, governance and politics across countries including India, UK, Cambodia, Austria, and US, as well as, multilateral diplomatic platforms. She has worked, consulted and advised the United Nations, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Youth Negotiators Academy (YNA), World Youth for Climate Justice (WYCJ) and other academic institutions in University of Leeds, Cambridge, and Columbia Law School. She has experience in litigation, policy-work, advocacy, research, and local grassroots politics (and political activism/campaigning).
She is an author having written and edited books/volumes (academic and non-academic). Her recent books include "Climate Litigation and Vulnerabilities: Global South Perspectives" [Routledge; 2025], "Climate Futures Across Disciplines: A Next Generation Approach [Routledge; 2026]" and“Beyond the North-South Binary: Climate Change, Inequality, and the Boundaries of International Human Rights Law [Brill; forthcoming 2027]”. Susan actively pursues academic and field expertise in human rights advocacy with focus on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and enjoys research into Climate Politics, Sustainable Development and international norm dynamics.
