Three Israeli Soldiers Wounded by Drone in Lebanon

(MENAFN) Three Israeli soldiers sustained light injuries Monday after an explosive drone struck in southern Lebanon, Israeli media reported, underscoring the fragility of a ceasefire nominally still in effect.

The wounded troops were transported to hospital for medical attention, the outlet added.

The incident unfolded as the Israeli military pressed ahead with daily airstrikes across Lebanon and continued exchanging fire with Hezbollah — despite a ceasefire declared on April 17 and subsequently extended through May 17.

Lebanese media reported that the same day's Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon left at least four people dead and eight others wounded.

The broader human toll of Israel's campaign in Lebanon since March 2 has reached catastrophic proportions, according to the latest official figures: 2,846 people killed, 8,693 injured, and more than 1.6 million displaced — roughly one in five of the country's entire population.
