Azerbaijan, Ukraine Leaders Praise “Positive Dynamics” in Bilateral Ties

(MENAFN) Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed satisfaction with what they described as “positive dynamics” in the development of bilateral relations during a phone conversation on Wednesday.

In an initial statement on the social media platform X, Zelenskyy said the two leaders discussed progress on agreements reached during his visit to Azerbaijan last month, as well as broader efforts to expand cooperation aimed at “enhance security and stability.”

“We exchanged details of our contacts with partners and agreed on the next steps. Together, we can certainly bring more strength to our people,” Zelenskyy said.

Aliyev later confirmed the call in a separate statement on X, noting that both sides reviewed the current state of relations.

“During the call, satisfaction was expressed with the positive dynamics in the development of relations between our countries,” Aliyev said.

The conversation follows a meeting between the two presidents in the Azerbaijani city of Gabala on April 25, where, according to Ukraine’s Presidential Office, six bilateral agreements were signed covering areas including defense cooperation, according to reports.
