Russia Destroys 28 Drones Targeting Moscow
(MENAFN) Russian air defense forces intercepted and destroyed at least 28 drones advancing toward Moscow on Thursday, city Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced, marking one of the more significant aerial assaults on the capital in recent memory.
Emergency response teams were rapidly deployed to multiple sites across the city where debris from the intercepted drones impacted the ground, Sobyanin said in a post on Telegram.
Authorities moved swiftly to restrict air traffic in response to the threat, with Russia's federal aviation agency Rosaviatsiya confirming temporary flight restrictions at two of Moscow's major airports — Vnukovo and Domodedovo — as a precautionary measure while operations were ongoing.
