UAE, Qatar Seal Landmark Deals to Reinforce Bilateral Cooperation

(MENAFN) The United Arab Emirates and Qatar have formalized a series of agreements and memorandums of understanding spanning key sectors including the economy and development, according to a joint statement issued following their highest-level bilateral forum.

The accords were announced after the Joint Supreme Committee for Cooperation, convened in Abu Dhabi, and co-chaired by Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Both sides affirmed that bilateral relations are advancing "grounded in shared political will" and an authentic commitment to partnerships of mutual benefit. The two nations welcomed progress in financial and investment cooperation, including efforts to finalize a memorandum of understanding between their respective Finance Ministries and continuing negotiations on a double taxation avoidance agreement.

The UAE and Qatar also underscored the strategic importance of collaboration in the emerging sectors shaping the future economy — particularly artificial intelligence, digital transformation, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
