Gaza Flotilla: Four Boats Advance Through Greek Territorial Waters

(MENAFN) Four vessels belonging to the Freedom Flotilla Coalition are currently cutting through Greek territorial waters after departing the Italian port of Syracuse last Saturday, Global Sumud Flotilla officials confirmed, as a mounting international humanitarian convoy presses forward toward Gaza.

According to an official statement from Global Sumud Flotilla, the four ships are actively navigating the corridor between the Peloponnese Peninsula and the island of Crete — a strategically significant stretch of the eastern Mediterranean.

The statement further revealed that an additional 32 vessels affiliated with the Global Sumud Flotilla are holding position in a coordinated standby formation off Crete's southern coastline, with the fleet's next operational phase expected to be disclosed within hours.

Separately, preparations are nearing completion for a contingent of boats stationed in Marmaris — a Mediterranean resort town along Türkiye's southwestern coast — that are set to reinforce the growing convoy. Activist training exercises remain ongoing at the site, though officials have yet to confirm a departure window.

Prior to the flotilla's planned consolidation and final push toward Gaza, organizers said sea conditions and safe-passage routing strategies are being carefully assessed to ensure navigational security across the fleet.

Members of the public can follow the convoy's progress in real time through the Freedom Flotilla Coalition's dedicated live tracking platform.
