India Denounces Iran Drone Strike on UAE Oil Hub
(MENAFN) India issued a sharp condemnation Tuesday following a Iranian missile and drone assault on a critical energy installation along the United Arab Emirates' eastern coastline, declaring the attack — which left three Indian nationals hospitalized — flatly "unacceptable."
The strike targeted the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, a strategically vital energy hub, igniting a fire on-site and marking the first such offensive since a fragile ceasefire between Iran and the United States came into force on April 8. UAE authorities confirmed the attack involved both missiles and drones launched from Iranian territory.

India's Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal did not mince words in his Tuesday statement, saying the attack on Fujairah that resulted in injury to three Indian nationals is "unacceptable."
"We call for immediate cessation of these hostilities and the targeting of civilian infrastructure and innocent civilians," he said.
Jaiswal reaffirmed India's broader diplomatic posture in the face of surging regional instability, stressing that New Delhi continues to "stand for dialogue and diplomacy to deal with the situation, so that peace and stability may be restored across West Asia."
The Indian government also issued an explicit call for the protection of critical maritime corridors, demanding "free and unimpeded navigation and commerce through the Strait of Hormuz in keeping with international law."
"India stands ready to support all efforts for a peaceful resolution of issues," Jaiswal said.
The latest flare-up unfolds against a volatile regional backdrop.
