Afghan Forces Seize Large Drug Cache in Helmand Anti-Narcotics Operation


(MENAFN) Afghan counter-narcotics forces have seized a significant quantity of illegal drugs and drug-processing equipment during ongoing operations in southern Helmand province, according to reports from a state-run news agency.

As stated by reports, authorities confiscated around 8,170 kilograms of heroin, along with materials used in the production and processing of illicit narcotics. Officials described the operation as part of continuing efforts to combat drug trafficking and dismantle criminal networks involved in the manufacture and distribution of illegal substances.

In a separate operation, security forces also seized 55 kilograms of methamphetamine in western Nimroz province on Saturday, according to the same reports.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to intensifying counter-narcotics campaigns and preventing the spread and production of illegal drugs across Afghanistan.
