Dr Sam Edwards is Reader in Modern Political History at Loughborough University. Sam has published widely on the politics of war memory and on US-UK relations, including a book - Allies in Memory (Cambridge University Press, 2015) - which was shortlisted for the Royal Historical Society's Gladstone Prize. Sam has also written for various national and international media outlets, including the BBC, The Independent, and The Washington Post. Sam is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a former Fulbright Scholar.
