Azerbaijan, UAE Forge Stronger Strategic Ties in Gabala Talks
(MENAFN) Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev welcomed a senior United Arab Emirates delegation to the northern city of Gabala on Tuesday, hosting talks that spanned a broad range of bilateral and regional priorities.
The meeting, led on the UAE side by Foreign Minister Saeed Bin Mubarak Al Hajeri, covered cooperation across political, economic, trade, energy, and renewable energy sectors, according to Aliyev's presidential press service. Discussions also extended to the operations of a joint investment fund and the coordination of shared military exercises.
Both sides turned their attention to the wider regional landscape, jointly underscoring the need to pursue diplomatic solutions to ongoing tensions across the Middle East, the statement added.
President Aliyev described the trajectory of Azerbaijani-Emirati relations in notably warm terms, commending what he called their successful development "based on strategic partnership" between the two nations.
He also drew particular attention to the composition of the visiting delegation, expressing appreciation for the "significance" of Al Hajeri's arrival with "a large delegation" as a signal of both countries' commitment to further strengthening their ties.
