Omnicom Reports $659.8M In Q1 PR Revenue In First Full Quarter Post-IPG Deal
The company did not provide comparative performance for the PR segment, prior to the inclusion of IPG in its PR operations.
Public relations remained a mid-sized contributor within Omnicom's portfolio in the quarter, trailing integrated media, which accounted for 51.5% of revenue, and advertising at 16.8%. PR was slightly ahead of experiential and other services, which made up 10.4% of the mix.
Overall, Omnicom reported total revenue of $6.2 billion for the first quarter, up from $3.7 billion a year earlier, primarily reflecting the inclusion of IPG following the November deal. Core operations revenue - which excludes dispositions and assets held for sale - rose 6.7% to $5.6 billion, including 3.9% organic growth and a 2.7% benefit from foreign exchange.
By region, the United States remained Omnicom's largest market, contributing 61.4% of core revenue, followed by Europe and the UK.
Profitability improved during the quarter, with adjusted EBITA from core operations increasing 27.3% to $833.5 million. Margins rose to 14.8% from 12.4%, driven primarily by cost reduction synergies tied to the IPG integration.
On a reported basis, operating income increased to $646.2 million, while net income rose to $405.2 million. Adjusted diluted earnings per share increased 11.8% to $1.90.
CEO John Wren said the results reflect the company's integrated capabilities and progress on combining operations following the IPG acquisition, as well as ongoing investments in data and AI-driven platforms.
Omnicom said it remains on track to deliver cost synergies from the transaction and expects to complete $3.5 billion in share repurchases this year under its broader $5 billion authorization.
The results follow a difficult 2025 for Omnicom's PR business, which declined for the full year despite a fourth-quarter boost from the initial contribution of IPG after the deal closed in late November.
