Turkish, Jordanian Officials Discuss Regional Issues, Bilateral Ties
(MENAFN) A delegation led by the head of the Turkish parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee held talks on Monday with Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, focusing on regional tensions and bilateral cooperation.
Fuat Oktay stated via Turkish social media platform NSosyal that the meeting at the Jordanian Foreign Ministry covered a wide range of pressing regional developments. These included the situation in Palestine, the ongoing war involving Iran, Israeli strikes in Lebanon, and the evolving conditions in Syria.
According to reports, the discussions also extended to strengthening economic ties between Türkiye and Jordan, with particular attention given to increasing mutual investments and expanding cooperation between the two countries.
Oktay noted that both sides expressed agreement on the need to accelerate practical joint projects, especially in the transport sector, which are seen as important for improving connectivity. Such initiatives, he said, would not only benefit both nations but also contribute to broader regional stability and economic growth.
The meeting also reaffirmed a shared commitment to enhancing parliamentary diplomacy, with both parties aiming to deepen institutional cooperation between their legislative bodies.
