Egypt’s President Warns of Regional Map-Shaping Efforts
(MENAFN) Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi cautioned on Saturday that there are “Deliberate efforts” underway to alter the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East, according to reports.
“The Middle East is going through critical circumstances amid deliberate efforts to redraw its map," Sisi said during a televised address marking the anniversary of Sinai’s liberation from Israeli occupation.
He stressed the importance of fully carrying out the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement reached last October, including ensuring the unrestricted flow of humanitarian assistance and beginning immediate reconstruction efforts in the enclave, as stated by reports.
The initial stage of the truce had focused on the exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners, according to reports.
Sisi also reaffirmed Egypt’s firm stance against any moves aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians, emphasizing Cairo’s clear opposition to such actions, as stated by reports.
