Colliers Facilitates F3 Marina Sale To Southern Marinas In Fort Lauderdale

(MENAFN- Market Press Release) April 24, 2026 11:27 am - Southern Marinas, a premier owner/operator of marina properties across the United States, has purchased F3 Marina Fort Lauderdale.

Colliers, a leading diversified professional services and investment management company, announced that Southern Marinas, a premier owner/operator of marina properties across the United States, has purchased F3 Marina Fort Lauderdale. The 59,000-square-foot hurricane-rated facility, located at 1335 Southeast 16th Street in Fort Lauderdale, is one of the world's fastest automated dry stack marinas.

Matt Putnam, Andrew Cantor and Dan Grovatt of Colliers' Leisure Property Advisors partnered with Lloyd Berry of Colliers' REMS & Asset Management to represent F3 Marina in the sale. The property was listed for sale earlier this year and received interest from buyers around the world, including marina groups, institutional investors and private equity groups.

“F3 Marina is a premier, state-of-the-art property located in the boating capital of the world,” said Putnam, senior vice president of Colliers.“Marinas of this scale don't come on the market often, which made it a desirable property for investors and marina owners. The fact that 90% of the revenue at F3 is from boat storage also drew interest from owners in the self-storage and industrial space.”

F3 Marina Fort Lauderdale was built in 2021 and has been described as the“Ritz Carlton of dry stacks” by founders David Behnke and John Matheson. As the world's tallest dry stack marina, the 130-foot-high building provides secure indoor storage for 254 vessels on racks that are six tiers high. Amenities include an upscale private lounge, indoor covered parking, on-site high-speed fueling, storage rentals and a retail ship store.

F3 Marina Fort Lauderdale is home to the first-of-its-kind automated marine crane system that lifts and stores or retrieves boats in under five minutes. The computerized marine crane system uses an overhead crane to hoist vessels up to 47 feet long, 13 feet beam, and 20 feet high with a weight limit of 30,000 pounds. The building is made of structural steel and precast concrete and is designed to withstand winds from a Category 5 hurricane.

The marina will continue to operate under the F3 Marina name after closing.

Barry Miller, Senior Vice President of Operations of Southern Marinas, enthusiastically stated,“We are very excited to welcome this best-in-class marina to the Southern Marinas' platform and to continue to expand our presence in one of the country's most dynamic regions.”
