ADB Commits Historic USD29.3 Billion in 2025
(MENAFN) The Asian Development Bank (ADB) deployed 29.3 billion U.S. dollars from its own resources in 2025, marking an unprecedented surge in support for the Asia-Pacific region as the multilateral lender pushed through key institutional reforms to help member nations navigate an increasingly volatile global landscape.
The figures were published Thursday in the ADB's annual report, which chronicles the bank's operational, institutional, and financial milestones across a year defined by complexity and mounting uncertainty.
ADB President Masato Kanda highlighted the scale of the achievement, pointing to both the pace of disbursement and the breadth of impact. "In 2025, the ADB delivered unprecedented levels of support, with a 20 percent increase over 2024 and expected impacts of more than 3.3 million jobs and benefits to over 180 million people," he said.
Private sector development stood out as a cornerstone of the bank's 2025 strategy, commanding 5.5 billion dollars of total commitments. Meanwhile, half of all public sector commitments were channeled directly toward infrastructure, institutional reform, and enabling conditions designed to catalyze and unlock further private investment across the region.
