Türkiye, UK Set to Seal Strategic Partnership Deal Thursday

(MENAFN) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is heading to London Thursday for high-stakes diplomatic talks with British counterpart Yvette Cooper, with the two nations poised to formalize a landmark bilateral agreement, diplomatic sources confirmed.

The meeting between Fidan and UK Foreign Secretary Cooper is set to kick off at 4 p.m. local time (1300 GMT), with the discussions expected to culminate in the signing of the Framework Document on Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Türkiye and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Beyond the headline bilateral meeting, Fidan's London itinerary includes separate engagements with members of the UK Parliament, as well as dedicated meetings with Turkish expatriates and business figures based in the British capital.

The signing of the strategic framework marks a significant step in anchoring Türkiye–UK relations on a formal long-term footing, as both nations deepen cooperation across diplomatic and economic fronts.
