Turkey, Pakistan Coordinate on US-Iran Talks in High-Level Call
(MENAFN) The foreign ministers of Türkiye and Pakistan held a phone conversation on Wednesday focused on ongoing US-Iran talks, according to diplomatic sources in Türkiye.
Hakan Fidan and Ishaq Dar reportedly reviewed the current status of negotiations and exchanged updates on diplomatic efforts by both countries aimed at helping the parties reach an agreement, according to reports.
The discussion comes amid delays in the second round of US-Iran talks that had been expected to take place in Islamabad over the weekend. The first round was also hosted in the Pakistani capital on April 11 but ended without a deal.
Diplomatic efforts are taking place alongside a fragile ceasefire arrangement. A two-week truce, initially mediated by Pakistan on April 8, was extended earlier this week pending the presentation of a new Iranian proposal intended to permanently end the conflict that began on Feb. 28.
