Sanders Urges End to US Military Aid to Israel Over West Bank Violence

(MENAFN) US Senator Bernie Sanders has once again called for an end to American military assistance to Israel, criticizing its military operations in the West Bank and actions by settlers, according to statements he made on social media.

Sanders argued that the situation extends beyond Gaza, Iran, and Lebanon, highlighting what he described as ongoing violence and destruction in the occupied West Bank.

He stated that since October 2023, Israeli soldiers and settlers have killed 1,071 Palestinians, demolished more than 6,000 homes, and established over 200 unauthorized outposts in the territory. He reiterated his position by saying, “No more U.S. military aid to Israel.”

His renewed remarks come shortly after the Senate rejected two resolutions he introduced aimed at blocking nearly $500 million in proposed arms sales to Israel.

The United States has faced long-standing criticism over its military support for Israel during the Gaza war, where reports say more than 72,000 people—mostly women and children—have been killed since October 7, 2023. A ceasefire agreement was reached in October 2025, though violations have reportedly continued.

In parallel, a number of US lawmakers have also urged Washington to halt weapons transfers to Israel, accusing it of contributing to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
