Amarnath Yatra 2026: Police Step Up Yatra Prep
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag, Amod Ashok Nagpure, visited Pahalgam to take stock of on-ground preparations and assess safety measures for pilgrims and tourists. Officials said he inspected key نقاط along the route, interacted with officers on duty, and stressed the need for seamless movement and secure facilities.

He directed personnel to maintain heightened vigilance and ensure that all arrangements are in place well ahead of the yatra.
Meanwhile, SSP Ganderbal, Sudhanshu Dhama, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Baltal base camp to review preparedness for the Amarnath Yatra 2026.
During the visit, he assessed accommodation facilities, traffic regulation plans, security deployment, emergency response systems, and inter-agency coordination. He emphasised the need for foolproof security measures, effective crowd management, and smooth facilitation for yatris.

He directed officials to ensure timely completion of all necessary works to avoid inconvenience to pilgrims.
Senior officers and representatives from allied departments accompanied the SSP and briefed him on the status of ongoing preparations. He underscored the importance of close coordination among all stakeholders and called for a proactive approach to address emerging challenges.
Reaffirming the commitment of the police, Dhama said all efforts are being made to ensure a safe, secure, and hassle-free pilgrimage, urging officers to remain vigilant and maintain the highest standards of service during the yatra.
