Israeli Forces Destroy School in Southern Lebanon Despite Ceasefire

(MENAFN) The Israeli army has reportedly destroyed a public school in the southern Lebanese town of Khiam, in what Lebanese media describe as a violation of a temporary ceasefire.

According to a state-run news agency, Israeli forces allegedly planted explosives inside the building and detonated them overnight, completely demolishing the structure.

No immediate response or comment was issued by the Israeli military regarding the reported incident.

Lebanese authorities have reported significant casualties and displacement since early March, stating that thousands have been killed or injured and over a million people forced from their homes due to ongoing hostilities.

A ceasefire agreement was recently announced by US President Donald Trump following discussions with Lebanese and Israeli leadership, intended to pause the escalation in fighting for a limited period.
