Iran Says No Delegation Sent to Pakistan for US Talks
(MENAFN) An Iranian state-run broadcaster has reported that no Iranian delegation has traveled to Pakistan for a new round of talks with the United States.
According to the broadcaster, “So far, no Iranian delegation has traveled to Islamabad, Pakistan—neither the main delegation nor any subsidiary, primary, or secondary delegation,” rejecting circulating reports about the meetings.
The news agency also said claims that Iranian officials were scheduled to participate in discussions in Islamabad on Monday evening or Tuesday morning were inaccurate.
The report cited Iranian officials who emphasized that future participation in talks depends on changes in US behavior, adding that Tehran does not accept negotiations conducted “under the shadow of threats.”
Pakistan had previously hosted US-Iran talks earlier this month following its role in brokering a temporary ceasefire agreement. Efforts to organize another round of negotiations in Islamabad are reportedly ongoing, although uncertainty remains.
Meanwhile, statements attributed to US President Donald Trump suggested that extending the ceasefire is unlikely, with continued military measures expected until a longer-term agreement is reached to end the ongoing conflict.
