China’s Xi Assigns Fresh Ambassadors to Key International Posts
(MENAFN) Chinese President Xi Jinping has approved a new set of ambassadorial appointments, signaling Beijing’s continued efforts to strengthen diplomatic engagement across multiple regions, according to an official statement issued Tuesday.
The changes were enacted in accordance with a decision by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, the country’s top legislative authority responsible for approving such high-level postings.
As part of the reshuffle, Zeng Jixin has been appointed ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, replacing Zhang Yiming in the strategically important Gulf post.
Cong Song will take up the role of ambassador to Ghana, succeeding Tong Defa, as China maintains strong political and economic ties across Africa.
Zhou Limin has been named ambassador to Sweden, replacing Cui Aimin, amid ongoing efforts to manage relations with European partners.
The latest appointments reflect Beijing’s broader push to reinforce its diplomatic presence and maintain stable international partnerships in key regions worldwide.
