Clash in Philippines Leaves Multiple Insurgents Dead

(MENAFN) The Philippine military announced on Monday that it had neutralized at least 19 suspected members of an anti-government armed faction during a confrontation in the central region of the country.

A military-operated digital news outlet stated that individuals believed to be affiliated with the New People’s Army lost their lives in a skirmish with state forces early Sunday in the municipality of Toboso, located in Negros Occidental province.

This violent encounter formed part of continuing military campaigns in the locality, where the hostilities have reportedly forced hundreds of civilians to flee their homes.

Officials have not yet verified the identities of those who were killed.
