Israeli Forces Allege Targeting Rocket Launcher in S. Lebanon

(MENAFN) According to reports, the Israeli military has said it carried out a strike on a rocket launcher in southern Lebanon, even as a temporary ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon remains in place.

As stated by reports, the army claimed the overnight operation targeted what it described as a “loaded and ready-to-launch” system in the Kfarkela area, located north of a so-called forward defense line.

The military said the launcher was considered an immediate threat to Israeli forces and civilians in northern areas.

According to reports, the ceasefire was announced as a 10-day arrangement beginning at midnight on Friday, following an earlier declaration by US President Donald Trump.

Reports also note that since early March, Israeli operations in Lebanon have resulted in thousands of casualties and large-scale displacement, with more than one million people reportedly forced to leave their homes based on official figures cited in local reporting.
