Municipality Ministry Launches Fleet Of Eco-Friendly Vehicles, Equipment

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Municipality has launched a modern fleet of eco-friendly vehicles and equipment, as part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to promote environmental sustainability and enhance the efficiency of municipal service systems.

The fleet was inaugurated by Assistant Undersecretary for Public Services Affairs Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Al Karani.

He affirmed that this step reflects the Ministry's commitment to adopting best environmental practices, highlighting its role in improving field operations efficiency and enhancing air quality.

Director of the Mechanical Equipment Department, Shuraida Sultan Al Rumaihi noted that the introduction of this fleet represents a qualitative leap in supporting operational processes.

The vehicles have been selected in accordance with the highest technical and environmental specifications, keeping pace with the latest global technologies and strengthening safety and efficiency standards, in line with achieving sustainable development goals.

The vehicles operate with“Euro 6” engines, classified among the highest global environmental standards, contributing to reducing harmful emissions, improving fuel efficiency, minimising noise levels, and enhancing road safety through advanced warning lights and reflective elements.

The fleet includes a range of specialised modern vehicles, including hearse transport ambulances, refrigerated vans, street washing vehicles, waste collection trucks, container carriers, as well as a street sweeper, a beach cleaning tractor, and a waste collection vehicle.

The launch of the eco-friendly fleet marks a significant step toward enhancing sustainability and improving service efficiency within the Ministry's operations. This move reflects the Ministry's broader commitment to adopting innovative, environmentally responsible solutions that support sustainable development goals while ensuring more efficient and reliable municipal services for the community.
