Iran Seeks “Dignified” End to War, Rejects Denial of Nuclear Rights

(MENAFN) According to reports, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that Iran is seeking to bring the ongoing conflict with the United States to an end in a “dignified” manner, while strongly defending the country’s position on its nuclear program.

During remarks made at a visit to the Sports and Youth Ministry, he argued that the US president has no authority to deny Iran what he described as its nuclear rights, while questioning accusations against Tehran, as stated by Iranian media.

He also called on the country to remain firm against what he described as a hostile adversary, emphasizing that Iran’s position is defensive and warning against narratives that portray it as an aggressor.

Pezeshkian added that Iran should manage the current situation carefully in order to avoid being depicted as a warmongering state, while reiterating that the country’s actions are based on self-defense.

He also made additional remarks referencing Iranian athletes and individuals abroad, expressing support for citizens who may have been influenced by external forces but are welcome to return.

The comments come in the context of ongoing tensions following a major military escalation earlier this year involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, which was later paused by a ceasefire mediated through regional diplomacy. Talks between Washington and Tehran have since continued intermittently in efforts to reach a more lasting agreement.
