US Strike in Eastern Pacific Kills Three on Suspected Drug Vessel

(MENAFN) U.S. Southern Command has confirmed that American forces conducted a lethal strike on a vessel in the Eastern Pacific, resulting in the deaths of three individuals identified by the military as “narco-terrorists,” according to reports.

The command stated on social media platform X that intelligence indicated the vessel was operating along established drug-trafficking routes and was actively involved in narcotics smuggling activities.

Officials said the strike was ordered by Southern Command chief Gen. Francis L. Donovan and carried out under Joint Task Force Southern Spear. No U.S. service members were reported injured during the operation.

The action forms part of a broader policy approach under the Trump administration aimed at intensifying military pressure on drug trafficking networks. Earlier this year, several cartels and criminal organizations were designated as foreign terrorist organizations, a classification that expanded the legal framework for military operations against them.
