Iran to Rebuild Energy Sector After Deadly Attacks
(MENAFN) Iran plans to allocate a portion of its oil revenues to repair oil and gas facilities damaged in recent US-Israeli attacks, the country’s oil minister said Tuesday.
Speaking in remarks carried by media, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad indicated that crude exports remain stable despite the conflict. He stated that oil sales in March and April were “satisfactory,” though he did not disclose specific figures.
The announcement comes amid escalating fallout from the strikes, which Iranian authorities say have killed more than 3,300 people since Feb. 28.
In response, Tehran launched missile and drone attacks targeting Israel as well as Iraq, Jordan, and several Gulf states hosting US military assets. A two-week ceasefire was announced last week following the exchange.
Diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions showed little progress. The United States and Iran held rare direct talks in Islamabad, Pakistan, on Saturday, but negotiations concluded early Sunday without reaching an agreement.
