Israeli Army Says Soldier Died During Clashes in Southern Lebanon
(MENAFN) The Israeli military said on Tuesday that one soldier was killed and three others were injured during clashes in southern Lebanon.
According to the army, the wounded include one soldier in moderate condition and two others with minor injuries.
The incident occurred as Israel continues an expanded military offensive in southern Lebanon following a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2, despite a ceasefire that was said to have taken effect in November 2024.
Meanwhile, Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that Israeli strikes have killed at least 2,089 people and injured 6,762 others.
Diplomatic efforts are also underway, with Beirut and Tel Aviv expected to hold their first meeting on Tuesday at the US State Department in Washington. The talks are aimed at securing a ceasefire and initiating direct negotiations between the two sides.
