Hungary’s Tisza Party Is Set for Landslide Election Victory

(MENAFN) Hungary's opposition Tisza Party, led by Peter Magyar, is set to claim victory in the country's parliamentary elections with 68.84% of the vote and 137 seats, according to unofficial results with 81% of ballots counted. Magyar had maintained a strong lead over incumbent Prime Minister Viktor Orban from the early stages of the election, as reported by the National Election Office.

Orban, who represents Hungary’s far-right and has held power for a significant period, conceded defeat, stating, "We will serve our nation from opposition."

In a post on US social media platform X, Magyar shared the news, saying, "Prime Minister Viktor Orban has just called to congratulate us on our victory." The election results mark a significant shift in Hungary’s political landscape, with Magyar and his Tisza Party poised to lead the government following the defeat of the long-serving Orban.
